Guidelines
General Participant Guidelines
The minimum word count for writers is 5k divided between two stories.
Artists will be required to complete two base sketches.
Creation period length is 5 months from Summary Submission.
Artists will claim a minimum of two summaries, but can request more if they would like.
General Rules
Be kind and respectful. This means no slurs, hate speech, trans/homophobia, etc. You acknowledge that “no” and “stop” are complete sentences. Only give critiques when asked, etc.
Plagiarism is not allowed and will result in an immediate ban.
Content Rules
All stories and art must be new for the bang and must not have been posted about prior to this bang.
Each writer must complete a minimum of 5k divided between two stories. Each story must feature a different ship.
Each artist must complete two base sketches for the stories they choose. Background, color, etc. is not required.
What is a Big Bang?
A Big Bang (or “Bang” for short) is a specific type of challenge usually involving long fics and accompanying artwork. This type of challenge is a reprise of the old zine tradition of collaboration between artists and writers for internet fandoms.
What is the TodoBowl Bang?
The TodoBowl Bang is a Bang event centered around ships featuring Todoroki Shouto from the manga/anime Boku no Hero Academia by Horikoshi Kōhei.
What is this Bang’s theme?
The Bang’s theme is currently undecided.
How do I join?
When applications are made available, you can sign up there! Contributor apps are released January 17th, so make sure to keep an eye out for that!
Do I need a Discord?
Absolutely! The majority of communication will be made through Discord.
Will I be able to apply as a writer and an artist?
Sort of. You can only apply as one or the other, but you can also choose to be a beta or pinch hitter in addition to being a writer/artist. You do not need to be a writer/artist to be a beta/pinch hitter.
What is a pinch hitter?
A pinch hitter is kind of like backup. Life can get crazy, and we aren’t always able to finish projects we thought we could. If you need to drop from the Bang, a pinch hitter will step in to complete the work.
Can minors participate?
Yes! However, they will not be allowed to create any NSFW content.
Are there any content restrictions?
No, but you should tag everything appropriately in your summary submission.
Can I join with a friend as a pair?
Yes. Let a mod know when applications are out that you plan to partner with someone ahead of time.
